2017 Show

Info from the 2017 - 36th Annual Show and Sale

We held our 36th annual woodcarving show, competition, and sale on November 11th and 12th and we are grateful to everyone who made our show such a success,

As always, we want to thank our sponsors:  Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers Supply,
FLEXCUT Tool Company, Woodcraft of Nashville, Java Jaay's, The Woodcraft Shop,
the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center, and the Oak Park Baptist Church

We also wish to thank our judges, Dr. Mary Beth Johns, an Assistant Professior of
Visual Art Education at Athens State University, Bob Hovde, an active member of both
NAWA and the North Alabama Woodcrafters group, as well as Don Perkinson, a long-time member of NAWA.  In all, 76 ribbons were awarded, 26 of which went to First Place winners
and another to Best of Show. The remainder of the ribbons were awarded for 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention entries.

The show was open to the public.  Admission was free and door prizes were awarded every hour for prizes donated by our sponsors and vendors.  As always, we had a drawing for Christmas trees and a silent auction for wreaths, all decorated with hundreds of ornaments handmade by our members.

NAWA President Jose Martin congratulates Phil Terry on winning the People's Choice Award.
